The Practice of Regional Expansion in West and East Indonesia

The aim of this research is to explore the practice of regional expansion both in West and East Indonesia. There were 215 regionals expanded in Indonesia since 1999. We grouped all regional expansion by two groups: west and east Indonesia. There were 88 regionals in west Indonesia and 127 regionals in east Indonesia. We analyzed among PAD (Regional own-source revenue), DAU (General Allocation Fund), and DAK (special budget allocation from central to local government). We found that there were difference both west and east Indonesia in among variables. We also found that several regionals have low in PAD, DAU and DAK.
